Rodney Lavon Coleman was born in Roxboro, North Carolina and raised in nearby Leasburg.  He is the son of Roderick and
Verna Coleman and  brother to Shonda and Christopher.  Coleman is a 1995 graduate of Bartlett Yancey Senior High and later
earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education in 1999 from Winston-Salem State University.  Rev. Coleman
was licensed to preach by St. James Baptist Church, Leasburg, N.C. in April 2000 and ordained by The High Point Educational
and Missionary Baptist Association in June 2002.
Rev. Coleman is a graduate of Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC with Masters of Divinity.  He has formerly served as
assistant pastor and Minister of Music at the New Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Greensboro, NC. Rev. Coleman officially
became pastor of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Mocksville, NC. Rev. Coleman is currently a Doctoral of Ministry Student at
The United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.
When he is not ministering, Rev. Coleman enjoys playing a variety of musical instruments and spending time with his wife, family
and friends.
Formally Rolanda Patrick, “Ro” as she’s affectionately known as, hails from Elmsford, New York. She is the daughter of James
and Clarice Patrick and sister to Trevor Patrick.  After serving as class valedictorian and class president of Alexander Hamilton
High School, Rolanda arrived at Winston-Salem State University in 1999. While there, she was quite active in many organizations,
including the Student Government Association, Campus Pals, Ram Ambassadors, a mentor to many, as well as MISS WSSU
2002-2003.  
Rolanda has always been very active in the church, serving on various ministries including the usher’s board, woman’s auxiliary,
young adult president, project coordinator and a choir director. She is an anointed people person who is a vital part of my
ministry.  
Currently, First Lady Coleman is employed by the Forsyth County Department of Public Health as a Teen/Adolesent Health
Prevention Coordinator.
