Cedar Grove Visits Kidsfest
Kidsfest is a free community event is sponsored by Smart Start of Davie County in conjunction with Davie County Recreation and Parks and Davie Family YMCA. The goal of KidsFest is to provide a fun day of learning for children and to raise awareness for the services and activities available to families of young children in Davie County.
More than 500 people attended KidsFest, an annual event sponsored by Smart Start of Davie County at the Davie Community Park. Attendees came from Davie, Davidson, Forsyth, Iredell, Yadkin, Randolph and Rowan counties. The event was a huge success despite the morning starting with tornado warnings, hail and a torrential downpour, said Allison Gupton, SmartStart’s community relations and education coordinator.
We chose to visit Kidsfest because we were planning our STEM fair on the same day. It turned out that Kidsfest was a chance for us to still reach out to young people and this was a natural fit for us.
Cedar Grove Baptist Church was the only Church in the region that attended Kidsfest! We are proud to have that distinction because when parents are looking for services for their children, we want them to think Jesus and his Church.
Our hope is that we can be an ever present help in the time of need! And we will put Kidsfest on our calendar for the future.
